NWS Nashville: Strong EF-0 tornado touched down near Ethridge on Thursday

A strong EF-0 tornado touched down in Lawrence County near Ethridge on Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service Nashville confirmed Friday.

NWS crews are also surveying damage from Thursday’s storms in another part of Lawrence County, west of Lawrenceburg, along with locations in Marshall County and Wayne County, according to NWS Nashville meteorologist Matt Reagan.

A line of storms triggered tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings as they moved across Middle Tennessee on Thursday. There were reports of large hail, structural damage, downed trees, snapped power poles and flooding across the region. Multiple school districts also announced closures and early dismissals or canceled afternoon events ahead of the storms.
