Nashville Predators forward Ryan Johansen threw his gloves to the ice, along with his stick, as he headed for the bench with a little more than three minutes remaining in the second period against the Vancouver Canucks.
Johansen made a brief stop near the bench before he was helped down the tunnel with a noticeable limp. He did not return to the game.
Predators coach John Hynes said he wasn’t sure of Johansen’s condition immediately after the game, other than he suffered a cut.
When asked if he thought the injury could be serious he said it was “possible” but reiterated he hadn’t yet talked to the team’s trainers.
“I didn’t look at it,” Hynes said. “I know he got cut; other than that, I have not had a chance to talk to the trainers yet.
Johansen has 12 goals and 16 assists in 55 games this season.
