The Nashville Predators were short of shots Tuesday night against the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Predators managed just 17 shots on goal, a season low.
Roman Josi set up Matt Duchene’s goal with 14 minutes, 56 seconds left in the first, which gave the Predators an early lead at Bridgestone Arena.
As easy as 1-2-3, though, the Knights tied the score 1:23 later on Michael Amadio’s goal in what turned out to be a 5-1 victory for the visitors.
A few seconds after that, William Carrier took advantage of a turnover and made it 2-1 in favor of the Knights. A puck found the Predators’ net again with 8:02 left in the first, this time courtesy of Phil Kessel, making it 3-1.
Vegas struck again just under three minutes into the second, thanks to Chandler Stephenson.
The Predators were coming off a nine-day break that included the All-Star break and were looking to score their fourth consecutive victory, which would have tied their season high.
The Predators are 24-19-6. The Golden Knights are 30-18-4.
